Prizes & Awards: Prizes for the top three finishers in both disciplines.
First Prize: € 7,000.00
Second Prize: € 5,000.00,
Third Prize: € 3,000.00,
and a special prize <<Maria Callas>> of €3,000.00
Singers: 1. a chamber aria of the
17th or 18th century or a lied, 2. a piece of sacred music, either cantata or
oratorio, 3. an opera aria. Women taking part in the (Maria Callas) Award have
to present an aria belonging to the 19th century. The examination board will
appreciate particularly an aria by Bellini.
Piano: 1. a piece by Chopin, (except op. 10 no. 6, op.25 no7
and posthumous work), 2. a piece by Lizst, Scriabin, Debussy, Prokofieff (also
the toccata op.11). Bartok (op. 18), or Casella (op.70), 3. a sonata by
Beethoven (except op. 14. 49. 54. 78. 790.)
Eligibility for BOTH Competitions: open to young musicians between the ages of 16 to 36 years old.

Winners
will go to Italy for semifinal & final competition - Dec 11-16, 2006

before Nov.1th, 2005. Residents outside of Toronto are permitted to
send an audition tape with three contrasting pieces that best display their
talent.
